Croppin' Fun

At the Crop for Kids Benefit I got in a little crafting time ;-)  I completed this 7 Gypsies Tray (an Archiver's class kit).  Such a fun project!  Needless to say,  I did not exactly following the instructions >>:-)

The Crop for Kids Benefits was a wonderful success and a enjoyable blessing for everyone who attended! We raised $1650.00 for Hannah and Luke, two teachers serving at Rancho Ebenezer in Honduras.  We are so very grateful to all of you who donated supplies and door prizes (we had almost $1000.00s in door prizes, etc. donated) and to all of you who donated and/or attended.

A card that all the gals made for Luke and Hannah!  We all learned how to make paper rosettes -- yipee!

The Spanish Heart to Heart Ladies sold tamales for a year and donated $800.00 to the Crop for Kids!

I had to take a break from card-making, kitting cards and teaching card-making classes, so I could get ready for Valentines!  I used a super cute High Hope stamp to create a card for my Sweetie.  I used all my favorite products -- Papertrey Ink cardstock, Spellbinder's dies, and Copic markers!!

Heart Felt Thanks from Luke

Because it is almost impossible to mail anything to or from Honduras and the internet provider where Luke is at is not at all what we are used to here in the States, he asked me to make sure that all of you who have contributed to his support (financially or through prayer) know how very much he appreciates you and considers you full partners in all he does while teaching at the academy at Rancho Ebenezer. 

We made cards that we used to try to convey to everyone what very grateful Luke and our entire family are to you -- our friends!  The dies are Papertrey Ink and QuicKutz and the stamps used are Papertrey Ink.

Luke in Honduras and Crop for Kids

Our son, Luke Harms joined us on a family mission trip to Honduras in March 2010.  There, we spent a week at the World Gospel Outreach children’s program facility, Rancho Ebenezer.  At the Ranch, the WGO staff, teachers, and house parents care for, raise, and educate more than 40 Honduran children who attend school (K-12) and participate in sports, after-school activities, and learn the joys and responsibilities of growing up in a loving, Christian, family environment.  Their schooling is a comprehensive, Christian-based, college preparatory curriculum.  The Academy has a serious shortage of high school teachers.  Luke, after seeing how these children’s lives are literally being transformed, decided to volunteer to serve as a high school teacher at Rancho Ebenezer.  He has been Honduras teaching since September 2010.  Check out his December Newsletter for details on some of his activities.

Luke's Blog

The teachers, staff and house parents raise their own support while they work at the ranch.  Some very special friends have volunteered to help host a benefit crop for Luke and another teacher, Hannah Dakel, at Rancho Ebenezer in Honduras.  On February 19th, you can come and craft (scrapbook, paper craft, make jewelry, knit, sew, etc) from 10am to 10pm.  We will provide lunch and dinner.  We will also have lots of door prizes and a silent auction.  The cost is $40.00.  $30.00 will go to the Luke Harms Fund and Hannah Dakel Fund at World Gospel Outreach.  Check out the details below!

$30.00 is a tax deductible donation going directly to World Gospel Outreach (WGO) for the Hannnah Dakel and Luke Harms Mission Funds.  They are teachers in Honduras at the WGO children’s program facility, Rancho Ebenezer, outside the capitol city of Tegucigalpa.  There, volunteers with WGO care for, raise, and educate more than 40 Honduran children who were abandoned by their families.

Camping with Friends

We love camping!! Especially when friends and family join us ;-)  We are planning a weekend to get away with some friends that we have camped with before.  It reminded me what what a great time we had with them a couple years ago -- I think it was the first camping experience for their girls.  After that weekend, I made minibooks so the girls would not forget what a great time we had!  Chipboard and cardstock stickers are great for quickie books like this...

Happy Anniversary

In honor of my niece's first Wedding Anniversary (she was married last year in November), my duaghter and I made 14 minibooks for family members.  It was lots of fun -- each one is a little different.  We used Maya Road Chipboard books and Karen Foster paper and embellishments! 

Thanksgiving Favor

I love my copic markers, Papertrey Ink stamps, and Spellbinder dies! Chex mix is a great fall favor and it goes so well with these coffee bags from Taylored Expressions!

First Intermediate Copic Certification

I am back from Chicago and so excited.  I had a great time with my sweet hubby and spent a day learning more about the wonders of Copic Markers!  The Certification class was taught by Marianne Walker.  We covered advanced Shading and Shadow techniques.  We even had time to fit some advanced color theory -- lots of fun!  All of the Regional Teachers were there earning their certification as well -- it was good to get to know them.  In the evening we all completed a lovely recipe book project designed by Debbie Olson and Sherrie Siemens. 

We all recieved a 72 marker Copic Case -- sweet!  But 72 -- really, I think I am gonna need a few more!!!
